Abdou´s life in The New Gambia

A report made in February 2017, shortly after switching over to democracy in The Gambia.

Abdou Manjang and his students at the Freetown pre-school. Not only Abdou educates the children of the village but the young teacher and his mother also support many children in the village with food and care when needed. The young teacher has a strong bound with his students.

It is past 19 hour, the night has fallen on Freetown, Gambia, two women are walking back from a new born ceremony in total darkness. All of the sudden car lights arise and reveal the back of their elegant African dress that they specially wore for the occasion. Abdou looks up in the sky and says “ At night time, the moon
